Wood Gates - Steel Framed
Wood Gates - Steel Framed
Gates are what tend to bring estimate prices up. At Vega’s Fence Co. we recommend installing gates with metal frames and posts. Wood gates (3-4 ft wide) tend to have a period of one to two years before they begin to sag. At Vega’s Fence Co. we therefore recommend installing these (below) metal framed and post gates to prevent the sagging from occurring. The cost is slightly higher than a wood framed and post gate but in the long run, the extra cost is a long term investment. Metal-framed gates will prevent future repair costs. (Wood frames available at customer’s request.)
**A note to our customers**
Other companies install gates using Postmaster steel posts. They work well with the fence but with the gate about one inch of a 2x4 supports the weight of the gate. In the future this may cause the gate to fall because the 2x4 may crack. (See picture in first row left.) At Vega’s Fence Co. we use a galvanized 2x2 square post (14 gauge) to help withstand the weight of the gate and helping your gate to last for a longer time. (See picture in first row middle.)
